The heat of his body against her skin draws her closer as her eyes travel over the few scars that lasted before settling back on his gaze. Her gazes is steady even as she catches her lower lip lightly in her teeth as his hands find her skin.

When his hands move up, it's a mercy that saves her from the horrible tenderness and desire in the previous moment of still intimacy.
